Bilingual Care Counselor

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Perform in-home initial assessments for caregivers in need of supportive services.
  • Provide short term, in-home individual counseling for caregivers.
  • Develop, organize, promote and facilitate support groups in underserved communities.
  • Perform outreach to local community centers, urgent care facilities, and churches to promote awareness of our services.
  • Attend speaking engagements at community centers, libraries, etc. where we can educate groups on our program and the services we offer.
  • Participate in local events and fairs to educate the public on the services we offer.
  • Meet with underserved caregivers, connecting them with services for both themselves and the loved ones they care for.
  • Provide follow-up support for the caregivers participating in our program.
  • Fill out intake forms for all participants mandated by the Department of Health.
  • Connect with other agencies to bring awareness of our program and its services and ultimately create community partnerships.

Qualifications and Requirements include:

  • Master's in Social Work or related field.
  • Experience working with seniors a plus, not mandatory.
  • 1-3 years of experience in direct counseling / experience working with seniors a plus
  • Bilingual Spanish a must.
  • Valid NYS Driver's license with a safe and responsible driving history and a motor vehicle that is properly registered and insured in accordance with NYS DMV regulations.
