Location: Riverhead|Schedule: Full Time 35 hours per week, one weekend day needed, work hours will vary|Salary: $23.63 per Hour



The Opportunity

FCA is seeking a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate for THRIVE, (A Center for Transformation, Healing, Recovery, Inspiration, Validation and Empowerment) Long Island's First Recovery Center.

Responsibilities

• Implement use of skills/needs assessment instrument with recoverees.
• Assist in development of individual recovery plans with recoverees and monitor progress.
• Provide mentoring and identification of obstacles.
• Match recoverees with available skills and resources.
• Implement specific programs, groups and activities to meet attendee needs.
• Recruit and train volunteers.
• Promote and assist in facilitation of special events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of Recovery Coach Training Academy (minimum 28 hours).
• Knowledge of recovery and community resources.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Computer proficient in MS Word and database systems.
• Social media experience preferred.
• Experience in delivery of peer recovery services and supports preferred.
• Must be able to travel to the East End if needed. 
• Training experience preferred.
• Valid and clean driver's license.
