Residential Manager

Location: Freeport, NY | Schedule: Full Time, 35 hours per week| Status: Non-Exempt |Salary: $32.97/Hour

Opportunity

FCA seeks a Residential Manager for our Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Program to oversee operations at Nassau Haven and Walkabout Transitional Residences. This role manages staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives effective service delivery within a supportive therapeutic milieu. Responsibilities

  • Staff Supervision: Coordinate the hiring, training, and scheduling of residential staff.
  • Milieu Management: Model positive interactions and implement RHY core training curriculums.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure alignment with all program funding and regulatory sources.
  • Operations & Finance: Manage petty cash, credit card reconciliations, and program supply purchasing.
  • On-Call Readiness: Provide emergency on-call support and direct shift coverage as needed.
  • House Meetings: Conduct weekly house meetings alongside the Case Manager/Career Counselor.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of relevant experience in adolescent residential care.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Licensure: Valid Driver's License with a safe driving history.
  • Technical: Basic computer proficiency with knowledge of MS Office.

The Opportunity

FCA is seeking an Residential Manager for our RHY (Runaway and Homeless Youth) Program. The Residential Manager will supervise the operations of our Nassau Haven and Walkabout Transitional Residences. The Residential Manager will ensure the effective and efficient delivery of service to clients as defined by agency policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise the hiring, training, and documentation for residential staff.
  • Model positive interactions and implement residential training curriculum as required by RHY core curriculum with residents and staff.
  • Ensure the program is operating in compliance with all regulatory and funding sources.
  • Coordinate the fiscal requirements of the program, monthly reports, i.e. petty cash, credit card reconciliation, fire reports, vehicle maintenance reports money management, and recreation as assigned.
  • Conduct weekly house meetings in conjunction with Case Manager/Career Counselor.
  • Responsible to be on call for any emergency situations.
  • Responsible to provide shift coverage as needed.
  • Assume other tasks and responsibilities assigned to ensure the effective operation of the program.
  • Monitor the purchasing of program provisions and supplies.
  • Ensure that there is proper staff coverage for shifts.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.

    At least 2 - 4 years relevant experience within residential care and/or adolescents.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Valid Driver's License with a safe and responsible driving history.

    Basic Computer Skills with knowledge of MS Office.
