ALZHEIMER'S INTERNSHIP

FCA is seeking an Graduate Level Intern student for our Alzheimer's Program within the Senior's Division.  

The intern will go into our underserved communities to reach out to caregivers, provide them with information and assistance and connect them with supportive services in an effort to enhance their quality of life.  

Responsibilities

  • Provide outreach at community gathering places, such as community events, senior fairs, health fairs, and libraries to bring awareness of our services to caregivers.
  • Perform outreach to local community centers, urgent care facilities, and churches to promote awareness of our services.
  • Attend speaking engagements at community centers, libraries, etc. where we can educate groups on our program and the services we offer.
  • Participate in local events and fairs to educate the public on the services we offer.
  • Meet with underserved caregivers to assess and connect them with services for both themselves and the loved ones they care for.
  • Provide follow-up support for the caregivers participating in our program.
  • Connect with other agencies to bring awareness of our program and its services and ultimately create community partnerships.
  • Facilitate caregiver support groups, both online and in person, to provide education and support to caregivers.


Qualifications

Must be a 2nd Year MSW, MHC or MFT Student.

Excellent verbal and written communication skill.

Must be willing to do home visitation. 

Valid and clean driver's license required.
