Certified Recovery Peer Advocate

Location: Westbury, NY | Schedule: 35 hours per week | Status: Non-Exempt |Salary:23.62/Hour

The Opportunity



FCA is seeking a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) to join the THRIVE team, Long Island's first recovery center, dedicated to providing support, resources, and empowerment to individuals in recovery and their families.

The CRPA is mobile position that often addresses the needs of the community in locations where there is an increased needed for awareness.


  Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing and implementing a comprehensive and innovative community outreach plan
  • Work collaboratively with Director and THRIVE Everywhere Program Coordinator to identify ongoing and new ways to address the needs of the recovery community.
  • Assist in developing plans for expanding the agency's presence. Assist in managing, printing, purchasing and preparation of materials used for outreach programs
  •  Attend & organize public, private & special outreach events throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties.
  • Record events (i.e. photos, videos, audio for social media purposes)
  • Responsible for collecting completed photo/video release forms
  • Provide monthly reports for agency and agency partners.
  • Assist with marketing materials and social media management including the newsletter, website, and Facebook as well as assist with marketing materials and social media.

Qualifications

  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent required.
  •  Completion of Recovery Coach Training Academy (minimum 46 hours) required,  Certified Recovery Peer Advocate credentialing preferred.
  • 1-2 years relevant experience in marketing, community outreach, and events management. 
  • Knowledge of Long Island recovery community and  prevention, treatment, and recovery resources required.
  • Proven social media expertise. 
  • Valid and clean driver's license required.
