The Opportunity

Family and Children's Association (FCA) is seeking a strategic, clinical-minded Program Coordinator for our Nassau Family Center (FCN) in Garden City, NY. This high-autonomy human services leadership role grants you the professional authority to mentor dedicated frontline teams, architect supportive family networks, and directly impact youth development across Nassau County. More specifically, the responsibilities and qualifications of the position include:

Responsibilities

  • Transformational Leadership: Train, supervise, and support FCN family support services staff, providing elite administrative oversight for family support and youth respite programs.
  • Workforce Mentorship: Conduct structured individual and group supervision of family support and respite staff to cultivate high morale, foster professional growth, and mitigate burnout.
  • Strategic Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a critical liaison with county entities for family support and respite programs while collaborating with the Director to ace state compliance audits and data reports.
  • Talent Acquisition: Execute comprehensive screening, behavior-based interviewing, and onboarding paperwork to recruit a high-performing, mission-driven direct-care workforce.
  • Competency Frameworks: Lead continuous professional development training for all respite and family support personnel, ensuring strict alignment with state training mandates.
  • Proactive Recruitment: Drive ongoing recruiting and talent pipelining initiatives to ensure a continuous, highly qualified pool of family support and respite professionals.
  • Data Governance: Methodically track, monitor, and audit all required county and state programmatic data to maintain high-integrity, audit-ready clinical records.
  • High-Impact Outreach: Identify, coordinate, and attend high-impact community outreach events to expand the program's regional visibility, maximize referrals, and engage new participants.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Initiate and maintain robust partnerships with community organizations to seamlessly embed supportive family services across external clinical and community-based service sites

Qualifications

  • Educational Foundation: Bachelor's degree in social work or a related human services field required; Master of Social Work (MSW) highly preferred to ensure advanced systemic comprehension.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Proven experience in human services working directly with children, adolescents, and youth in community or clinical settings.
  • Technical Literacy: Advanced experience working within Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and data tracking applications.
  • Communication Mastery: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively advocate for families, deliver presentations, and interface with regional stakeholders.
  • Leadership Acumen: Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is highly preferred, demonstrating your capability to align and motivate direct-care teams.
  • Operational Mobility: Valid and clean driver's license required to ensure seamless cross-site leadership and community integration.

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $30.22/Hour
  • Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week
  • Location: Garden City, NY
