FCA is excited to announce an opportunity for the position of Program Coordinator of Hempstead Prevention Coalition (HPC). As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a Program Coordinator!

The ideal Program Coordinator will create a positive workplace culture, fostering employee development, and ensuring that employees are equipped with the skills needed to contribute effectively to FCA’s success. This role requires an Associate degree (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) and relevant experience and requires at least 3 years in community organizing, coalition building and/or prevention work.

The HPC Program Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Prevention and Community Engagement, to provide coordination and management of adult and youth-focused efforts and development of environmental alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) reduction strategies for a substance use reduction coalition.


Responsibilities

  • Recruit and maintain a diverse coalition membership with local stakeholders.
  • Plan and implement all coalition activities such as:
    • Direct needs assessment activities.
  • Conduct community health planning activities.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze community health indicators data.
  • Collaborate with other local, state and national organizations.
  • Assist coalition members in conducting annual strategic planning and guide coalition to develop a comprehensive action plan based on needs-assessment and strategic planning.
  • Work with Director to develop and implement data collection methods, tools, and evaluation measures for coalition activities and associated projects in conjunction with coalition members.
  • Coordinate and facilitate coalition meetings and communicate effectively with members to promote collaboration, negotiation and problem solving.
  • Post relevant social media content.
  • Document progress of program and activities in written reports to funding agencies and FCA leadership.
  • Work with Director and Assistant Vice President to oversee expenditures of coalition budget.
  • Ensure that all services are strength-based and culturally competent.
  • In conjunction with the Director, monitor and manage program budget, adjusting accordingly to support the fiscal health of program.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate degree in relevant public service field.
  • At least 3 years in community organizing, coalition building and/or prevention work.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License with a safe and responsible driving history. A properly registered, insured and maintained vehicle in accordance with NYS-DMV regulations to be used to regularly travel from worksite to worksite.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills-including public speaking skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

Compensation Information

  • The competitive compensation range is reflected with FCA’s framework, culture, and values. Individual pay decisions will vary based on skills and experience’ while still allowing for growth.

Additional Information

  • Hourly: $31.87
  • Schedule: (M-F), evening and weekend hours, as needed
  • This role is full-time (35 hours/week), Non Exempt
