The Opportunity
The Children’s Mental Health and Wellness Division offers an array of services to meet the individual needs and strengths of children and families. Our Home and Community Based services offer support to children and youth 5-21 and their families by offering respite and caregiver services to enhance the family’s ability to care for the child in the home.
The
intern will provide individual planned respite services
to clients ages 5-21 and be required to complete documentation, i.e., progress
notes, treatment plans in order to be in compliance with State, County, Agency
and Program regulations. They will also
gain experience in both case management services, i.e., researching community
resources, shadowing staff on home visits, as well as experience conducting
program outreach in the community. A valid NYS driver's license with a
safe and responsible driving history and ability to conduct home and field
visits is required, along with a motor vehicle that is properly registered and
insured with NYS. When the intern is
requested to transport a client, an agency vehicle will be provided.
