Program Coordinator - Nursery Co-op

Primary Responsibilities include:

·  Strengthen curriculum and implement educational services at the Lynn Vanderhall Coop Nursery.

·  Coordinate services with Hofstra University's Joan and Arnold Saltzmans Community Service Center

·  Provide supervision to Nursery & IRC staff, event planning and leadership regarding all aspects of the Nursey program.

·  Implement activities that develop self- esteem and social skills, through games music, arts and crafts and storytelling.

·  Manage budget for supplies, events and activities.

·  Maintain a safe nursery for children.

·  Provide strength-based, culturally competent services to children and their families.

·  Assist IRC case manager in providing ongoing case management to nursery parents with a focus on screening and making appropriate referrals to address individual and family's needs in the following domains: education, health, mental health, legal/immigration proceedings, substance abuse, criminal/juvenile justice, child enrichment activities.

·  Administrative duties include program reports, statistics and other responsibilities tasked.

·  Assume other tasks or responsibilities assigned to ensure the effective operation of the program.

Qualifications and Requirements include:

·  Bachelors' Degree required. Master's degree in Education, Social Work or related field preferred.

·  Bilingual Spanish required.

·  At least one year experience working with child welfare programs.

·  Knowledge of and/or experience working with refugee or immigrant families preferred.

·  Must be willing to be trained and certified in CPR/ First Aid.

·  Valid New York State driver's license to drive agency vehicles to transport children /families.

·  Basic skills in Microsoft Office and Excel.

Schedule:

·  Full-time, minimum of 35 hours per week.

·  Monday through Friday, ability to flex hours when needed.
