The Opportunity

FCA is seeking a Residential Counselor to work in our Community Residence for adults who suffer from persistent mental illness. The residential program assists its residents in learning the skills necessary to move on to a more independent living environment.

Responsibilities

•   Ensure that the program and the residence are operating in compliance with all regulatory and funding requirements including conducting security checks and fire drills. 

• Provide counseling and supervision to residents and assist them in the development and implementation of their service plan.
• Develop and supervise a comprehensive recreational program.
• Supervise residents with daily activities and with maintaining responsibilities.
• Prepare meals for residents.
• Transport residents to and from appointments and recreational activities. 
• Complete and submit case notes 
• Conduct cleaning and disinfecting of household as per CDC guidelines.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Basic computer skills with MS Office

Salary: 19.23/Hour

Location: Elmont

Schedule:  Full Time, Monday-Friday
