FTRC Intern

The Opportunity

FCA is seeking an intern who will provide non-clinical support and advocacy services to individuals within the Integrated Clinic through the appropriate disclosure of their lived experience. 


Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate understanding of the peer role. Utilize lived experience to engage people from various settings into treatment. 
  • Provide support, encouragement, and guidance in linking individuals to appropriate services.

  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries with individuals.

  • Follow-up on treatment recommendations and referrals made by clinical staff and assist with adherence to treatment appointments. 
  • Provide warm handoffs to treatment providers and/or recovery support services and other community resources as indicated in the treatment plan.
  • Provide outreach, advocacy, mentoring and recovery support services to those seeking or sustaining recovery.
  • Participate in on-site and off-site activities with participants when applicable.
  • Responsible for crisis intervention and incident reporting procedures with the assistance of supervisor
  • Act as an advocate and liaison for participants for access to supports.
  • Document services in program EHR following requirements set by OMH, OASAS, SAMHSA and Medicaid.
  • Participate in weekly supervision.


Qualifications


    • H.S Diploma or Equivalent
    • completion of Core Courses through the Academy of Peer Services 
    • Valid and clean  Driver's License


    Schedule: 14-21 hours per week
