Location: Wantagh|Schedule: Full-Time | Status: Non-Exempt |Salary: $19.83/hour

The Opportunity

FCA is seeking a Residential Counselors for our emergency shelter that provides short-term housing, case management and crisis intervention to runaway and homeless youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide informal counseling to residents and be available for discussion of problems, goals, etc.
• Supervise each resident in maintaining his or her daily responsibilities as per the Program Guidelines.
• Orient new residents to the house rules and regulations.
• Transport residents to school or work as needed.
• Conduct assessments and intake of youth in the absence of the case manager.
• Conduct fire drills and room searches as assigned.
• Maintain necessary paperwork on a regular basis (petty cash, sign outs, receipts, etc.)
• Assume other responsibilities as needed to ensure the effective operation of the program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with youth
• Basic computer skills with MS Office
• Valid and clean driver's license

Compensation
