Primary Responsibilities include:
-Conduct outreach to the community (individually and as a team member) to build strong relationships with youth, residents, businesses, and community groups.
-Identify and diffuse "hot spots" for shootings and violence.
-Participate in organizing responses to shootings and increasing visibility when shootings and or killings take place (e.g. developing networks with other outreach program workers to coordinate an inclusive and strategic response).
-Identify youth who are involved in high risk activities. Aid in solving current problems and preventing future ones.
-Provide referral information to link and support individuals to available services and programs in the community.
Qualifications and Requirements include:
-Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
-Lived experience and connections with at-risk Hempstead youth a plus.
-Full Time, 35 hours per week.

-10 vacation days, 12 sick days, 4 personal days, 11 agency holidays, and 2 floating holidays per year.
