Counselor

Safe Observant Senior Program (SOS):Victims counseling for elder abuse victims, assist victims of abuse to connect with 

resources and support.

Primary Responsibilities include:

The counselor will provide individual and group supportive counseling to victims of elder abuse. Provide assistant to elder abuse victims in accessing supportive services including counseling, connecting to community-based care through home-based services, individualized case management serviced, accompany victims to court hearings, advocacy with the Police Department and the court system, and assist with virtual services when needed and victims' compensation applications.

Qualifications and Requirements include:

  • Master's degree required, MSW or MHC or related field.
  • Case Management, counseling and/or outreach experience a plus. Experience working with a senior population preferred.
  • A valid New York State driver's license with a history of safe and responsible driving.  Must drive own vehicle, which is properly insured and registered, to various long term care facilities and family type homes.

·  Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office.

Schedule:

·  P/T 22 hours per week with potential for Full Time

Pay $27.00 per hour
