Primary Responsibilities include:
The Rehabilitation Counselor is a member of the inter-disciplinary team that assists staff and consumers in developing and implementing a comprehensive program of rehabilitation services. c Rehabilitation services will assist the individual in overcoming barriers that have interfered with the person's ability to function independently and perform in the community, restoring the individual's functional level to the fullest possible. The Rehabilitation Counselor provides and/or coordinates activities to help develop and achieve goals as they relate to coping skills, daily living skills, financial literacy, employment and/or education. The Rehabilitation Counselor will facilitate access to needed community resources and will be responsible for tracking outcomes and follow-up.
Qualifications and Requirements include:
· Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation or Master's degree in any counseling or psychology specialization, with one year of experience or Bachelor's degree in either counseling, psychology, sociology, or otherwise related field with a minimum of two years of experience
· A valid New York State driver's license with a safe and responsible driving history. Own motor vehicle, properly insured and registered in accordance with NYS DMV regulations.
Schedule:
· P/T 20 hours per week, some evenings required.
· Split time between Hicksville and Hempstead locations.
