Residential Program Coordinator (FT)

Location: Garden City, NY | Schedule: Full time 35/hours | Status: Exempt |Salary Range: $ $65,000 to $66,690 per year

The Opportunity

The Program Coordinator oversees the daily operations of Lakeview House Community Residence, ensuring the effective delivery of services to children and families In accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with the Director on a regular basis to discuss overall program effectiveness and progress. Keep the Director informed of all relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit all reports and other required paperwork in a timely manner. Supervise the record keeping of all staff in accordance with all regulations.
  • Assist the Director in identifying program needs and containing program costs.
  • Supervise and coordinate the training needs of the staff to ensure effective delivery of quality services.
  • Participate in the recruitment, evaluation, and termination of program personnel in accordance with Human Resources. Keep the director informed and up to date as to the status of this area. Consult with the Director prior to any final decision regarding hiring, disciplining, or termination of staff.
  • Ensure that appropriate lines for communication are developed and maintained between program staff, residents, and agencies providing services.
  • Consult with OMH regarding referrals and screenings for the program.
  • Attend administrative and supervisory meetings, and represent the program at meetings and on committees, as requested by the Director.
  • Assure development and implementation of an Individual Action (Service) Plan for clients, as well as after care services in conjunction with appropriate staff and services.
  • Ensure that the program and the house are operating in compliance with all regulatory and funding sources and that all required paperwork, reports, and inspections are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate regularly scheduled staff meetings. Ensure the recording of minutes.
  • Supervise the program and staff to ensure the effective delivery of services. Perform regular written supervisions and evaluate performance of Residential Supervisor.
  • Ensure occurrence of weekly house meetings (Community Meetings) and attend when able. Ensure staff and resident are recording of minutes.
  • Coordinate and participate in the interview and orientation of referrals as part of the intake process.
  • Supervises student interns from local colleges and universities. Attend and complete supervisory training as needed.
  • Ensure that residents maintain entitlements. Keep the Director up-to-date regarding any problems or changes in a resident's entitlement status.
  • Serve as the program's liaison to the community and outside providers (i.e. schools, referring agencies, medical and clinical treatment services, etc.).
  • Ensure that petty cash and financial records are in accordance with agency and program policy and procedure.
  • Provide coverage as needed for staff shortages to maintain program operations.
  • On-call 24/7 for any and all emergencies.
  • Assume other tasks and responsibilities assigned to ensure the effective operation of the program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the human services field and experience working with children. A master’s degree in the human services field is preferred. LMSW, LMFT, LMHC preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years working with persons with serious mental health issues in a residential setting, minimum of 1 years supervising staff.
  • Valid New York State driving license with a safe and responsible driving history. Active defensive driving certificate of completion. Ability to drive the agency van
