Chore Worker (FT)
The Opportunity
The Chore Worker will work for the EISEP Program to support clients striving to maintain their independence by providing home care services. In this role, you will deliver essential, everyday support directly in clients' homes, helping vulnerable individuals manage their households and stay safely connected to their community.
Responsibilities
- Perform light cleaning in areas of the residence utilized by the client, which includes their bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room.
- Wash, dry, and fold client's laundry, which may be performed either in the residence or at a laundromat.
- Prepare clients' meals, if needed.
- Perform miscellaneous errands, including accompanying clients to doctor's appointments, supermarkets, banks, and other necessary community locations.
- Complete required reports for the agency and program in a timely manner and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage physical tasks daily, traveling to various locations, and carrying laundry, groceries, or other items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Assume other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to ensure the effective operation of the program.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid and clean New York State Driver's License with a safe, responsible driving history and access to your own properly registered and insured vehicle.
- Basic computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office and word processing for recording case notes and completing forms.
- Strong mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) to execute essential features of the position.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly, engage a diverse population, and demonstrate sensitivity and patience with the frail senior population.
- Sound reasoning ability to identify and assess situations, exercise good professional judgment, and take a leadership role during crisis situations.
- Cultural responsiveness toward clients, co-workers, and the community.
- Preferred: One year of experience working with a senior population, experience with independent home management, or Homemaker/Chore Services training.

- Status: Full-Time (35 hours per week)
