The Opportunity

The Social Work Counselor will work for Project Independence, a program located in Holbrook that works with foster youth to develop independent living skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate Independent Living Skills Workshops.
• Provide contacts and supports for foster families to facilitate implementation of independent living skills in the home.
• Coordinate service efforts with DSS caseworker.
• Conduct monthly home visits to youth in their foster homes.
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
• Complete a Step Up/ Casey Life Skills assessment and treatment plan in partnership with client, foster family and caseworker.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• One year of full-time experience working with adolescents.
• Valid NYS driver's license
• Computer proficiency with MS Office.

Additional Information

Schedule

• Full-time, 35 hours per week.
• Mon, Tues., Thurs., Fri. 9am-5pm, Wed. 12pm-8pm.
• Salary: $20/hr
