Residential Overnight Counselor

The Opportunity

FCA is seeking a Residential Overnight Counselor for our Walkabout Program located in Freeport.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven, diverse, and forward-thinking team!

The Residential Counselor provides independent living skills and shelter for homeless young men and women ages 16-24. 

More specifically, the responsibilities and qualifications of the position include:

Responsibilities

·  Provide informal counseling to the residents.

·  Assist residents with obtaining their goals.

·  Oversee in-house recreation and interaction of residents.

·  Perform inside and outside security checks and conduct fire drills.

·  Maintain program paperwork (petty cash, sign outs, timesheets, etc.)

Qualifications 

Required:

·  HS Diploma or equivalent

·  Minimum of one year of experience working with adolescents or experience working in a residential setting.

·  Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.

·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·  Valid New York State Driver's License.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree.

Compensation Information

• FCA is committed to a salary framework that aligns with our culture and values. The compensation range reflected is in alignment with our framework and individual pay decisions will vary based on skills and experience' while still allowing for growth.

Additional Information

• Salary: $18.65/hr.

• Schedule: (M-F) 12am-8am
• This role is full-time (35 hours/week), Non-Exempt.
