Hempstead Prevention Coalition Intern (Unpaid)

Program Summary:

FCA's Hempstead Prevention Coalition connects the most influential and trusted voices in and around the Village of Hempstead to focus on the reduction of substance use, with a primary focus on reducing youth substance use in the Village of Hempstead community. Through the cultivation of collaborative relationships with community partners, HPC facilitates community education and training, helps provide information, and build skills to create a safer, healthier Hempstead.

Primary Responsibilities include:

Intern assignments include, but are not limited to, collaborating with Director to create, post and monitor social media activity; schedule, attend, take notes and disseminate information regarding HPC meetings, events and initiatives; and assist Director in programmatic reporting and community outreach. This internship experience will provide student with a macro exposure to services and delivery of services in vulnerable communities.

Qualifications and Requirements include:

  • Undergrad Senior Level Social Work Student OR 1st Year Master of Social Work (MSW) Student OR Community Health, Human Services, or other degree student
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus

Schedule:

  • 14-21 Hours Weekly
  • Hours flexible between 9am - 5pm Monday thru Friday; Some evenings hours may be needed for workshops
  • BLENDED (Both Remote & On-Site Work Required)
