Work with THRIVE leadership and staff to
develop and implement a comprehensive and innovative community outreach plan.
Identify in-community needs of recovery
community, and organize and oversee community events to meet these needs.
Work collaboratively with Director &
staff to identify ongoing and new ways to address the needs of the recovery
Assist in managing, printing, purchasing
and preparation of materials used for outreach programs
Keep communication open and continuous
with agency, supervisor(s), staff & members of the team of new and
important information that could support ongoing and development of new
programs within the agency. Also keep agency apprised of new developments such
as resources, organizations and agencies as they become available.
Attend & organize public, private
& special outreach events. Develop, manage and coordinate setup and
breakdown teams for said events.
Provide information and literature about
the program to potential clients
Record events (i.e. photos, videos, audio
for social media purposes)
Responsible for collecting completed
photo/video release forms
Provide monthly reports for agency and
Assist with marketing materials and social
media management including the newsletter, website, and Facebook.
Experience and Education:
Some college plus
3 years relevant experience OR Bachelors required.
Recovery Peer Advocate
Experience in marketing, community
outreach, facility and events management
Knowledge of the Long Island recovering
Computer proficient in MS Word and
Proven social media expertise.
Valid NYS driver's license with a safe and
responsible driving history and a vehicle that is properly registered and
insured in accordance with NYS DMV regulations.
minimum of 35 hours per week.
through Friday, some evenings and weekends required.
